WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SYNTHETIC WIGS AND HAIRPIECES
We recommend washing your wig after approximately 21 days full wear or sooner depending on the environment the wig is being subjected to.
1. Fill a basin with tepid water and add a dash of "Wigs & Co Wig Wash" shampoo and froth the water. Turn the wig inside out and leave to soak submerged in the solution for 20 minutes.
2. Gently swish the wig in the water just before removing it. DO NOT RUB THE FIBRES.

RINSING/CONDITIONING
1. Remove the wig from the solution and reverse it back to its normal form, carefully rinse with cold water from the inside so that the fibres are pushed away from the base until all traces of the shampoo are removed.
3. Spray the wig with Wigs & Co Revitalising Mist all over to ensure all over condition.
2. Carefully blot out the excess water. DO NOT RUB THE WIG!
DRYING
1. After conditioning, put your hands inside the wig and gently shake to lift and separate the fibres.
3. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BRUSH THE WIG WHEN WET. Instead place on a wig drying frame and leave overnight to dry naturally. DO NOT DRY ON POLYSTYRENE HEADS, AS THIS INCURS SHRINKAGE OF THE WIG.
4. DO NOT FORCE DRY, ALLOW TO DRY NATURALLY
5. When the wig has dried, brush with a plastic anti static vent brush. The anit static brush will tame stray hairs on your wig and reduce static. Never brush your wig with a bristle brush, as this will incur matting.
6. For extra conditioning spray the wig with "Wigs & Co Revitalising Mist". Spray on conditioner at any time.
STYLING
1. Use the "Wigs & Co Styling Spritz" styling spray to help maintain your style and to achieve different effects.
2. Finger style synthetic wigs as much as possible DO NOT BLOW DRY OVER A BRUSH!
VERY IMPORTANT
Never use bleaches, tints or dyes on synthetic wigs as they will not alter the colour of your synthetic wig but will damage the base material and fibres.
We do not recommend the use of hair sprays as these can coat and clog the fibres.
Do not use a hairdryer or any heated hair appliance on synthetic wigs. Any form of heat above 160 degrees centigrade will irreparably damage your wig. Please remember this when cooking, oven temperatures and eye level grills are often operating above 160 degrees centigrade. Although sunlight will not directly damage your wig, colour lift will become apparent depending on the amount of exposure it receives.

PLEASE NOTE!
Wigs made of synthetic fibres may well experience fibre friction; the extent of this depends on the length of the wig and the environment in which the wig is subjected to. FIBRE FRICTION IS NOT A FAULT but a natural occurrence in synthetic wig products and will increase with wear and tear.
Natural head movement allows the fibres to rub together or rub against other synthetic materials being worn. This creates a static charge in the fibre which causes the ends to frizz and in some cases tangle. The longer the hair the more prevalent the problem. Fibre friction is usually confined to the underside of the wig and the ends of the fibre and can start to occur from the first day the wig is worn. If your wig is of a longer length, to help reduce fibre friction. When driving or as a passenger in a car, put as much of your wig to one side so as not to have the fibres rubbing against the back of the carseat. This will help minimise friction.Ways of reducing fibre friction
1. Ensure no synthetic garments are in contact with the wig when being worn.
2. Use conditioning sprays regularly in the areas most vulnerable to fibre friction (underneath the back of the wig and in the neckline)
3. Allow the natural drying of synthetic wigs and always use a spray conditioner prior to brushing out the wig.
